The first report I ever wrote was an autobiography of Rosa Parks and her contribution to Black history—in the second grade. Believe it or not, this was during a time when computers weren’t as common in every household. Research meant flipping through thick books, and if you wanted internet access, it meant a trip to the public library.

That experience opened a door for me. I found myself getting lost in history, inspired by the strength of those who came before me. The more I learned, the more I realized there was too much to say for just one report. That moment planted a seed—and ever since, I’ve been writing stories that matter, uncovering truths, and giving a voice to the narratives that deserve to be heard.
