I am Deceni Suazo Sneed, a first-generation Afro-Latina journalist with roots in Honduras, attending the Illustrious Florida A&M University and hailing from Tampa, Florida, by way of New York. Growing up, I was always curious and outspoken, eager to learn and just as eager to share knowledge that could make a difference. With a unique perspective shaped by both Hispanic and Black cultures, I recognized from a young age the power of representation in media.

Though my first passion was working with children, I soon realized that broadcast journalism could allow me to educate on a larger scale. Transferring to Florida A&M University was a turning point where I honed my skills in newscasting, producing, and storytelling. One of my key projects, a documentary called "Boyz to Men", explored the impact of growing up in a single-parent household and its influence on fatherhood, combining my love for storytelling with my desire to highlight important social issues.

Now, as a multimedia journalist, I am driven to use my voice and platform to inform, teach, and open minds. Whether shedding light on underrepresented communities or providing knowledge that impacts everyday lives, my goal is to create meaningful stories that leave a lasting impression.
